Glass Attack Victim gets Compensation

A Cumbrian woman who threw a pint glass at a teenage girl has been given a suspended sentence at Carlisle Crown Court.

Sian Potter, aged 20 from Silloth, threw a glass at her 16-year-old victim after she had accused Potter of attempting to chat up her boyfriend. The girl was knocked to the floor during the fracas at the bar of the Stanwix Holiday Village in Silloth.

The glass hit the young girl in the face, cutting her chin, and leaving her needing stitches and permanently scarred.

Potter admitted causing actual bodily harm in court and was given a three month suspended sentence and was also ordered to pay her victim £750 in compensation . She was also banned from entering the bar in which the crime took place for a year.
