Whiplash Treatment

by Macks Solicitors

After suffering a whiplash injury you may experience extreme pain and discomfort. There is no particular treatment for whiplash although there are ways in which you can relieve some of the pain.

In the first few hours following the injury an ice bag applied to the neck will help to relieve any inflammation. It is essential that you wrap the bag in a towel. This is to ensure there is no direct contact between your skin and the ice.

Painkillers such as Paracetamol can also offer some relief from pain. However please note, before taking any medication you should consult your GP.  Your doctor may also advise you on a series of gentle exercises which you can do to help relieve symptoms.

Even though there are treatments to relieve some of the pain, a whiplash injury can prevent you from carrying out many daily tasks. If you have suffered from a whiplash injury in a road traffic accident that was not your fault, at Macks we may be able to help you claim compensation. Contact us now on 01642 252 828
