Lasting Power of Attorney
We specialise in dealing with Lasting Powers of Attorney which are legal documents where a person gives someone else the power to make decisions on their behalf. There are many reasons to appoint an attorney, including incapacity and illness. By making a Lasting Power of Attorney now means that you decide who that person or persons should be.
There are two types of Lasting Power of Attorney:
Property and Financial Affairs Lasting Power of Attorney
This allows your attorney to deal with your bank accounts, pensions, bills and investments. It also allows your attorney to buy and sell property on your behalf. With your permission, this type of Lasting Power of Attorney can be used straight away once it has been registered.
Health and Welfare Lasting Power of Attorney
This gives the attorney power to make personal welfare decisions on your behalf. This includes where you should live, healthcare decisions and even medical treatment. This type of Lasting Power of Attorney can only be used once you have become unable to make decisions for yourself.
What is the next step?
