A cyclist suffered life-long injuries when he was hit by a car

A heavily disabled cyclist has won compensation for his long-term injuries in the High Court after he was involved in a car crash. Graham Gregory could receive over £4 million, according to his legal team.

Mr Graham, 48, was cycling home when he was hit by the car which was following him in 2005. Mr Graham had to be taken to the National Spinal Injuries Centre at Stoke Mandeville, where he spent two years under doctors’ care. He eventually returned home in 2008.

Mr Graham lost the use of all of his limbs in the accident, and can never return to work. While the exact amount of compensation is to be confirmed, it’s hoped that the payout can cover the costs of the lifetime of constant care which Mr Graham now needs.

Unable to return to work with his previous employers, where Mr Graham did a number of jobs including dismantling fairground rides and working in motorway services, he now lives in a specially designed bungalow, where he depends on others for his care.
